It is an excellent 7/8 ounce and 1 ounce powder. For 1-1/8 ounce loads the pressures get a little high, but it still works well for 1145 fps loads. It is a VERY fine grained powder and it will find any leakage path in your reloader, so be aware.

Titewad In STS hull wad recommendation. I just sent an email to Hodgon to get their input on my load I’m doing. I’m using STS hulls with Titewad powder (16.5 gr) 1 1/8oz shot. Per Hodgdon website I should be able to use a Windjammer wad. Unfortunately when I do use that wad with no seating pressure I get dished crimps.

The probable reason for your blackened hulls is soot caused by lower pressures. Look for powders that are faster burning than 700X that will give you higher pressures with the lighter shot charges. As mentioned, Extra Lite is a good choice.
